From her humble beginnings of a childhood hobby to unexpectedly being art gallery winner, Isabella Villanueva’s brushwork has shown that any accomplishment comes from simply doing what one loves.
“I’ve loved art for as long as I can remember. It’s been a hobby of mine since preschool. Ever since I was a really young kid I would get art supplies and other related gifts for birthdays and Christmas,” Villanueva said.
The Principals Art Gallery is an annual art display where students’ artwork is showcased for the principal to choose from various to be framed for future generations to enjoy. Villanueva’s piece, “Trevi Fountain,” was recently chosen as this year’s selection.
“It’s an honor to be chosen for this gallery! I hope that future LCHS students enjoy my work as much as I do.” Villanueva fell in love with art from an early age, her love for art was encouraged by her loved ones, and her journey was paved by pure content. This unexpected win is not only an honor to Villanueva but a celebration of what started off as something simple turning into something meaningful and special. “It felt surreal because honestly I’ve never thought of my art as something that could really win anything. I am super thankful for the opportunity to showcase my artwork for future generations.”
