Game Pigeon is an app that sends other people online games through the Apple Messages app and is available free in the app store. It is common to see students playing it around the school. While many would agree there are better uses of time than video games, research shows that occasional gaming can improve social skills, the brain’s ability to learn, and motor skills. Game Pigeon includes 8-ball, Mini golf, darts, and several others. We asked students around the school which games they prefer, and why.
“I like…8 ball, or…9 ball because it’s so much easier to play and you don’t really have to concentrate to win. (I play) at least once a day.”
Will Frye, 11
“Chess, because it’s strategic. (I play) a lot.”
Blake Brobst, 10
“8-ball, because it’s…fun to score.”
Alexis Tran, 9
