On April 22, it was announced that Simpson computer applications teacher Kimberly Poole won the Washington Post’s teacher of the year award. Poole, in her 30th year of teaching, shared the award with third-grade teacher Miriam Schimmoller, who teaches at Oak Street Elementary School in Falls Church.
