From November 15 through November 17, Captains Playhouse put on their fall play, “Murder’s in the Heir,” directed by faculty adviser Nathan McGraw, and additional directors Jessica Carington and Kyle Chua.
In a classic “whodunit” mystery, family members fight for fortune after the suspicious death of a wealthy family member. The play includes the character Gene (played by freshman Max Pepper), a fictional director who from time to time interrupts the play to address the actors and invites the audience to vote on who should be the murderer.
Simon Starkweather, played by sophomore Eli Kaywork, delivers his humorous monologue surrounding his health and wealth as members of the family gather to listen. Starkweather’s family, as well as staff of the Starkweather Estate, become angered by a sudden switch in who will become heir to Simon Starkweather’s fortune and assets. Photo by Taylor Helfer.
